National Stress Awareness Day 2010 – How LAs can take part in this year’s campaign

Annual campaign ‘National Stress Awareness Day’ is back on 3rd November this year.  In 2009, local authorities took part in the International Stress Management Campaign (ISMA) and held stress advice sessions with free support from ISMA.

HSE would like to hear from any Local Authority willing to take part in this year’s campaign.  All ISMA require is a private room with two chairs and access to facilities.

If you would like to take part and can provide a venue, please contact Helen McGill helen.mcgill@hse.gsi.gov.uk Tel 0151 951 3627

National Stress awareness day – 3 November 2010

National Stress Awareness Day is an annual campaign organised by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA). ISMA will offer free advisory sessions during the first week in November for people who are suffering from stress at work or home.

One of the LAs to get involved last year was Liverpool City Council – around 450 council staff members attended events over the three days and even the Lord Mayor put in a special appearance.

If you want to take part this year, ISMA will assign one of their members to your organisation as a ‘stress adviser’ and you can choose whether to target the event at employees or residents.
