Councils’ regulatory services play an essential role in protecting public health and enhancing community well-being. The MJ Public Projection Achievement Award is an opportunity for councils to showcase the best work being carried out by regulatory services and to highlight innovative examples of good practice. LACORS and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are delighted to be sponsoring this award which is now in its fifth year. Applications for projects can therefore range from workplace health and safety to consumer protection matters, including food safety and standards to the wider regulatory services agenda, including environmental protection.
Submissions should focus on a single project or initiative in this very important category and should also be evidence-based and draw on current examples, including customer and business feedback and engagement with key stakeholders to meet council and community objectives. You should also indicate how the project has secured positive public protection outcomes.
