The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has announced the decision on a planning application to develop the Pavilion End of the Oval Cricket Ground in London. The Secretary of State has accepted the Planning Inspector’s recommendation that the development be given planning permission.

Failure rates for underground gas storage

The UK Government is considering the possibility of storing natural gas in a variety of underground gas storage (UGS) facilities. The HSE has commissioned the British Geological Survey (BGS) to identify the main types of facilities currently in operation worldwide and any documented or reported failures and incidents which have led to release of stored product.
