Construction deaths down to a record low in 2005/06 - E085:06
Statistics released today by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) show the total number of fatal injuries to workers in construction during 2005/06 was 59 (provisional), a fall from the final figure of 69 in 2004/05. This is the lowest figure on record.

Construction industry leads on CDM guidance
An industry led steering group is leading on creating guidance documents to support the revised Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), due to come into force in April 2007. The group has been set up by the Health and Safety Commission’s Construction Industry Advisory Committee (CONIAC).
