HSE Deputy Chief Executive Kevin Myers will be attending the 3rd Annual Occupational Health and Safety conference to deliver the keynote speech “The Health & Safety of Great Britain - Be part of the solution”.

The conference will run from the 24- 25 November, Dexter House, London.

HSE is pleased to back Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week by raising awareness that ‘Cowboys and Gas don’t mix’ – If you use an unregistered gas engineer you could be putting your life at risk. Unsafe gas work can lead to a gas leak, fire, explosion and exposure to carbon monoxide, which could result in you, your family or friends being seriously injured or killed.

Statistics - big improvements in Britain’s record

Britain became a healthier and safer place to work last year, according to figures released today by HSE.

Statistics show there has been a significant reduction in the numbers of people killed, injured or suffering work related ill-health from April 2008 to March 2009.
