Previous tests under controlled conditions had established the dominant sources of noise when glass is collected in to metal troughs on a kerbside collection vehicle, and identified working factors likely to affect noise exposure.

The event is aimed at people who make day to day operational decisions within the cleaning industry such as supervisors and area/regional managers. It is being held on Tuesday 28 October 2008 in Northampton and will provide practical health and safety information on:

  • Risk assessment
  • Low falls
  • Slips and trips
  • Musculoskeletal injuries (like back pain)
  • Machinery safety
