This Technical Assessment Guide (TAG) explains the approach adopted by Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (NII) in its assessment of licensees’ safety submissions that relate to internal hazards. Internal hazards are those hazards to plant, structures and personnel which originate within the site boundary but are external to the process in the case of nuclear chemical plant or primary circuit in the case of power reactors.
