This note seeks to draw attention to: current knowledge and guidance on the hazards from CO₂, current UK legislation, possible legislative changes, existing pipeline design codes and standards, ongoing initiatives and research; and good practice in the design of pipeline systems for transporting bulk quantities of CO₂ in the UK.
