Van explodes transporting acetylene gas

HSE issues a warning on transport of acetylene cylinders following an explosion in a van travelling in Wolsingham, County Durham which resulted in the death of the driver.  The initial investigation has established the incident is most likely to have been caused by an explosion of acetylene gas from cutting equipment being carried in the vehicle.
