This report provides the findings of an evaluation of HSE’s ‘Watch Your Step’ promotional and inspection campaign, which was ran between October 2005 and March 2006. The report investigates all aspects of the campaign, from planning to delivery, and provides analysis of those aspects of the campaign which worked well and those that worked less well. Recommendations to assist with future campaigns of this type and for future work on slips and trips are also provided. The report has been produced by HSE with supporting material provided by Synovate. Synovate’s report of the qualitative follow-up evaluation study they were commissioned to undertake as part of this broader evaluation exercise of the ‘Watch Your Step’ campaign has been published separately as RR563.
