This report documents a preliminary study of gas dispersion in a room using Large-eddy simulation (LES), a relatively new computational modelling technique for application to industrial problems. The aim of this work has been to develop expertise in the new dispersion modelling technique and to examine the model’s capabilities and limitations. The work forms part of a wider study aimed at developing dispersion modelling expertise for exposure assessment within HSE. Report number HSL/2006/28
