The purpose of the review was to assess practice in the industry against the new Work at Height Regulations (WAHR). These regulations are intended to reduce the number of accidents and deaths caused by falls from height, which remain the single largest cause of fatalities in the workplace. Two travelling and two fixed fairgrounds were visited to survey a representative sample of working at height activities during the assembly, dismantling and inspection of fairground rides and entertainments.
