Most vehicle repair bodyshops will be aware that the Paints Directive comes into effect from January next year. But, despite rumours to the contrary, isocyanate-based paints are not being banned.
In fact, the proportion of isocyanate hardener used is likely to increase. And almost every bodyshop uses isocyanate-based paints - it appears in some water-based paints, most base coats and almost all lacquers.
